He was the first to introduce the concept of money remittance for the migrant workers and also initiated the cooperative movement in the state of odisha along with others. He also has strong exposure in international best practices in microfinance. Under his dynamic leadership and financial acumen, Adhikar has reached out to even extremely difficult geographical locations including left wing extremist affected districts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh. In addition he is an Ashoka Fellow in 1995 for the innovative approach to financial and social intermediation through SHGs.
